Sewing Room and Sewing Room Organization

10 Attachment(s)
I just completed painting my sewing room and sewing room closet. When we purchased our home in 2009, the room I converted into my sewing room had one wall painted purple and the other three walls were lavender, and the closet was painted white. I painted it all a very light cream color. I talked about repainting for five years to lighten it up, so finally got around to it. In addition, I decided to re-arrange my 8'x14' sewing room closet, so I removed everything from my five 72"x48"x18" chrome shelving units so that I could install 4" casters on them. What a job! I had "stuff" piled everywhere! I wanted ease of access to both sides of shelves. I placed the units in a line (grocery store style) rather than having them against the wall. In doing so, I had room for two more shelving units 72"x36"x12", so I purchased them and installed casters. I also folded my fabric onto comic boards, (all but the backing yardage). I have one LED 4' light fixture in the closet. By rearranging the shelving, I discovered that I need to add another 4' LED light fixture so that I have plenty of light in the closet. My husband suggested that I remove the carpet in the closet and install tile. I responded with, "when I remove carpet, it will be from the sewing room AND the closet carpet. That will be Phase 3. Thanks to Misty's Mom for the porcelain plank tile suggestion! I really like it. Looks like these pics are sideways - I don't know how to rotate them on the QB.

Wow, I really like your space. You do know that when you move to Texas, you'll have to have a separate moving van just for your sewing, quilting and stash!:p

Great support for you quilts when you quilt them. I had the same step up with my cutting table facing the back of my Bernina. Enjoy.

One of my GF has (almost) as much fabric as I do, so we occasionally 'shop' each others stash. You can never have too much fabric! It's like a guy and 'his' toys!

ANY idea how to turn my pics so they aren't sideways? When I loaded them from my computer, they were not sideways.
