KLO, what town is the shop in? I live in Winston Salem, so can't imagine it's too far from me. I'd like to check it out. Thanks so much.

KLO, I've driven by it and never noticed. Thanks for the tip.

What a great idea that is, Zozee. I aimed to tide my sewing room between Christmas and New Year but didn't get very far, although the room is only small. I'll make a list but might need to break "floor" down into smaller sections. :-)
|
Update on my list: I have now completed #1, 2, 3, 6, and 13. (I would have made more progress except that I am simultaneously decluttering my master BR for my daughter and SIL to come work
their makeover magic on. Oh, what a monster job of going through old pictures , papers, books, and stuff. But worth it! So much open space now.) Back to the sewing room list: Number 3--the scrap bins--were the biggie, as you can imagine. Here's how I managed to tame the scraps: -I offered a medium flat rate box of scraps on here for $25 (incl. postage) and sold it immediately, and had plenty more folks behind her asking . So, let me throw that out to you as a quick way to get rid of scraps and recoup enough to take yourself out to lunch as a reward. LOL. -Sorted, ironed, and stored my strips into an ArtBin that's 12x12. I use a Wonder Clip to hold small stacks together so they don't get messy . -Donated pieces that are too thin for a quilter to enjoy but thick enough for other purposes. -Started setting aside crumbs when I read here that some people would actually appreciate them. -Trashed the rest. My room is finally feeling breathable again. |
Zozee, my baby-step will be to clear off my cutting table. Your picture motivated me! (the before AND especially the after)!

Zozee we are all so proud of you! Enjoy your space and now you don't even have to remind yourself to breath.

Big sigh of relief to you for all your progress! It truly feels good to accomplish our goals in a timely manner. Congrats!

Zozee- My cutting area looks about 10 times worse that your "before" picture!
Good job! It's looking wonderful. I'm so bad about putting stuff away and it doesn't serve me at all because I waste so much time looking for things. |
Zozee - the timer is a miracle worker! Even if I get side-tracked into something else in the room, the timer reminds me of the other task. : )
My design wall really needs some work. The second panel isn't covered yet so it is just behind the other. That panel needs the flannel taped down better, as the upper corner is loose. I can't reach that high even with my kitchen step stool. Right now everything is hung towards the top, even if it means folding it up - I have a kitten that thinks climbing the wall is great fun but he only goes up about 5 feet because he's getting heavier as he grows. Cute, but nerve-racking - especially when I have to gently pry his claws from my work-in-progress. So, next project is setting the timer and getting the two panels entirely covered and taped down - not sure what to do about The Monarch - he's a rascal. : ) |
