Great idea! How long are the slings before they are rolled?

How clever of you! Want to come over and see what you can do with my space?

Each sling started out just about square at 20" x 19". The Timtex I had was 20" wide, and most of the rolls of freezer paper, etc that I wanted to store were about 18" so I decided to just use the width of the Timtex for the width of the slings. I settled on 19" for the length to cut the Timtex so that I would have plenty of wiggle room to be able efficiently use a single WOF (width of fabric) cut for each sling.

As others have suggested, the size of this project could be varied to accommodate storing things other than freezer paper rolls, so do what works for you. The overall length was designed to be just the right length to clear the top of my quilting table enough so that I hope it won't interfere when there's a quilt "in progress" on the table. I spaced the slings evenly over the length of the backing, and that came out to be about 6 3/4 inches between each one.

Is anyone interested in a tutorial on this? It would be fun to do one if anyone wants it. :D
