oksewglad: I had most of those shoe boxes filled at one point. I am hoping not to use most of them for fabric ever again! LOL!

Also, I know how treacherous those country roads can be. We had 3 houses on our road but we were the only family with school age kids for most of my school years. My dad would plow us out to the main highway about 1/2 mile away so we could get to the bus. I think my younger brother and I probably were arguing too much. :)

Connie, I have some empty containers, too...and they take up space...don't need them...find someone who can!

Roads cleared before bus came this morning. Think kids were ready to go too...what's this about siblings arguing...never happened to me and my 5...haha.

Plan to go through scraps to find 3 x 22 inch pieces for the new pattern I bought last week..need 40 different fabrics..hoping not to buy anything!

I don’t throw away the scraps but I am starting to organize by color. This comes in use when working on small projects. I will see how it goes. I like using the small pieces because they remind me of the project I used them on.

Quite overwhelmed in organizing. However, what I am doing now is cutting when I have a small piece into strips of usable sizes. Right now that is 2.5” strips. I am keeping a cache of 6.5” nine patches to be used for quick quilts.

The only time I can get rid of fabric is if I don’t like it anymore.

Darcys...I like your 9P idea...a great idea for any type of quilt...baby gifts come to mind!

I have some 9ps too! Seems like too many, so I put together a lap quilt with about 49 of them yesterday. They do come in handy and are great to make with scraps.

Oh, I like that, Conchalea!

...I've got weird odds and ends in my studio like the enormously long piece of elastic off of a fitted sheet ....

I had just such a piece of elastic sitting in my sewing box for at least 5 years...just this month I finally used it in diapers for my new grandson! :D

See, I knew there was a reason not to throw it out:D

Right now I'm trying to organize my office a little. Mainly getting rid of paper clutter that built up while I was submitting quilts and artwork to shows. So far, I've filled the shredder catch basket, emptied it and about half filled again. And have a full box of junk papers to go in the recycle bin, but at least I can now see my desktop.

Thanks for the compliments on my wall hanging. It’s more pleasing to me than what was there & I plan to hang more of my square quilts as I get time.

Again I have gotten off track...but that's okay. I decided to rummage through the small tote of horse fabrics and get those odds and ends under control. Have I shared this pattern before?

It's an easy pattern to sew. I'm cutting pieces of 5 x 10 and 5" squares to make my own precuts. Wouldn't this be great with a variety of horse related fabrics. Maybe use a star or rope fabric for the sashes. I already have enought 5 x 10 pieces cut for one quilt. Because I have made these cuts from other scraps, I have found "coordinates" to accent my cuts and soon will have enough for 2 quilts.

Today I want to choose a new quilt to hang in my Kitchen and put away several that are covering horizontal surfaces.

I also want to do a bit of garden organizing if the weather stays pleasant. It's time to weed in between the raised beds, rejuvenate the soil in them and begin planning what veggies I want to plant. Still too cold for many things, but we could go ahead and get the kale, collards and peas in the ground now.-- Might shoot for that to be the goal for the end of the week.

Indoors- my sewing studio is staying pretty well organized thanks to last month's de-clutter and organization. But I would like to go ahead and tackle a few remaining things that are floating around on horizontal surfaces.
And, I still need to find at least one thing to throw away, recycle, donate or sell.
