Hugs, oksewglad! Have fun with those t-shirt quilts.
Good luck to everyone with your organizing goals. We can do this! 👏👏👏👏 |
organizing: decided I'd gotten all the use out of my Christmas fabric, so giving the rest away. At this point, it might be hoarding and I don't need that. That's 10-15 yds of fabric. And I get to start new in 2021. No more adding new to the old stuff, just to use it.
Just read a novel about hoarding and decided to evaluate my stash for that possibility. |
Thanks, Teen and retired T. One of my memories of my sister was the day she declared her life's vocation. I was 6 or 7 and we were cleaning up dishes after a meal. I clearly recall her declaring as she was wiping a plate, "I am going to be a nurse". I always admired her clear vision of her life's work. She graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota, specializing in Pediatrics and practiced in several hospitals all over the country as she ended her career as a travel nurse.

petthefabric: It feels good to donate it, doesn’t it? I gave away a lot of Christmas fabric in September for a fundraiser. Such a weight lifted off of my shoulders because I didn’t need to wonder how to use it.
oksewglad: What a great memory and one you remembered from such a young age. My sister has a friend that was a traveling nurse for a while too. Such a great experience. |
I need to get my fabric area organized. Found a tip in using Bobby pins when folding to keep it secure, so purchased some, now to find the time to get started after some other crafting projects I need to complete. Looking forward to later this year having a “sewing shed”!

A place for everything and everything in it place.

I started a new project last night and of course looking for just the right fabrics for each block. OMY it was so easy to shop my stash because not only do I have fab on comic boards, but organized my fat quarters at the same time. I just may be difficult to live with today because I feel so smug. My stash looks nice now but the pressure is on. Do I need someone to stand in the doorway after shopping stash to glare at me saying, "Where does it go, Julie? Put it back where it belongs, Julie."

Now that I have sorted every bit of my stash and rid of unwanted fabrics, I’m going to start on my books and patterns. I have a few that I recently printed and have just piled on a bookshelf. I will put them in plastic sleeves and file them in the appropriate binder. |
Jmoore, I think I'm going to invest in page protectors and 3 ring binders. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/biggrin.png

I woke up in the middle of the night with some items in my head that I no longer use and could donate to get them out of my space. Of course, I went back to sleep and now can’t remember what they were...
Hey everyone. I’ve definitely got the bug to do some more decluttering, but I’m having a hard time deciding exactly where I want to start. Anyone else having this problem? Rob |
