Just got back from quick trip to JoAnn's. Christmas storage stuff on sale. Found stackables, 4 trays, 9x6x2.5. reg 14.99 but on sale for 5.99. For that price I think I can make it work! Time mini brownie and off we go!

I enjoy reading everyone’s organizing tasks.

juliasb: I have been going through large tubs also. I told my niece tonight that I think when I was still teaching and the boys were in sports that it was easier to buy another tub and put stuff in. Lol! I took a bunch of tubs over to her a few months ago when she thought she needed to move and now will be bringing most of them home and storing them until needed by her or me to move. At least I have a few places to store them out of the way.

oksewglad: Those tiny HSTs make me shudder! I know you make wonderful mini quilts out of them, though.

Julienm1: I went through my pens and pencils last year and still kept way too many. They are, however, in different spots in my house.

I’m going through a tub of larger pieces and yardage of blues. Refolding and reacquainting myself with the fabrics. Of course, now I have new ideas of how to use them too, 🥺.

Busy busy peeps...good for you guys!

Today, before I hit the sewing room, I drug out 2 household toolboxes from the utility room, placed them in front of Hubbie and asked him to sort, remove duplicates, and consolidate into one box. So, I’m exhausted.

We have a long deep storage closet under our basement stairs that I started "mining" last winter. There were a few boxes left to go through when better weather hit. Now that it's winter again, I am tackling those boxes. Yesterday I found several envelopes of money, a bag full of commemorative US state quarters, and two rolls of commemorative nickles. All saved by my late MIL in preparation for the millenium. Glad I finally got to that box and it really spurs me on to finish this project. Who knows what else I'll find!

Wow, MKotch! That’s a great incentive.

For Christmas I received 4 insulated coffee/tea mugs with lids to prevent spills. The idea was that I would replace 4 of our older mugs. So yesterday I went through our mug collection and found 10 that have now been washed and packed into a box to take to our local donation center. Felt good to reduce a little more clutter and the area under the cabinets where we hang our mugs looks so much better with 6 fewer mugs than were there yesterday!

Coffee mugs? Another problem I have. I seem to be attracted to mugs with goofy sayings. Doesn't have to be quilt related but usually are. I guess I rather drink from the mug rather than wear the t-shirt. So now when I find a great quote I just tell DH and we laugh.

Confession: I have a couple quilt themed wine glasses but DH started it. One year for Christmas he gave me a coffee mug that says, "SHHHH, there's wine in here."

Just checked and I have "quilty" mugs that are pretty.

Sitting in my sewing room, hand sewing binding, TV on. Definitely in my happy place. Having a mimosa. Looking at the bookshelf in my sewing room, thinking, thinking, thinking. Ah ha! moment. Have all those precuts stored in the armoire in the fabric room and have no idea what's in there. So after these three lap quilts are bound will start shifting stuff. I think I only need 2 shelves which probably means 3! Hopefully will have this done by bedtime. Wish me luck. First quilt binding is almost done.

Well I got caught in a lie!
Yep sure did!
Decided NOT to work on those 3 PL quilts.
Did finish binding on one but then jumped ship and worked on precuts in the armoire. THERE WAS A LOT OF STUFF IN THERE! Now all my precuts are in my line of vision, ready to be used.
Discovered one project that I have no idea when I started it but luckily everything to finish it is a container.
Also discovered I really, really like jelly rolls!

Well, hot on the heels of the coffee mug destash, DH and I decided to go through our closets. Neither of us are clothes horses, but we did find an assortment of stuff to add to the pile, so we ended up taking 5 boxes to our local non-profit thrift store! I feel lighter already.

Teen- not sure I could bring myself to part with tools...

Recently, I sorted mugs. Criteria for saving, easy to drink from without spilling (shape counts), size I like, like the looks. From 20+, there are now 5. It was tight serving coffee after Christmas dinner. One of the saved ones is artist made. Thinking I might buy more from him.
