I just moved. My old quilting room has shelves built into the closet with the doors stored. Knowing what I know now, I would clean the room well and leave it as it is. Do not add shelves or new flooring. Start preparing for your move now. Get rid of excess stuff by giving it to charities. Moving is very difficult.

Another thing, that year is going to go fast You may want to consider keeping your quilting after sprucing up to a minimum like just keep out what you would take to guild or retreat. that way you can still have your hands in it but not have everything all out where you would have to repack. Figure how much of your stash you get into or just do one project at a time. Just a thought.
