I sort of follow Bonnie Hunter's scrap method. I determined the sizes I normally use and just cut those. I just finished two Comfort quilts by pulling from my 2 1/2" strip box. And I keep 2 1/2" squares at my machine for Leader Enders and once I have a large pile I start putting those into quilt tops. If there are larger pieces left after a project, I sew them all together to make a back. If not for the project they first made then another project. I like the idea of the left overs being used for the "I Found A Quilted Heart" project. Thanks TheMerkleFamily for the suggestion.
