Default Small Room, Big Makeover!

Howdy y'all

For the past 3 months I have slowly been rearranging and refurnishing my tiny little sewing room. I still have a long way to go, but had to put off working on the room this weekend in order to finish up my sister's quilt in time for her birthday. So while I still had the quilt, I wanted to show off 2 pictures I took. The first one is my old sewing table (it is now home to my FW), and you can clearly see that the quilt on it is shoved up against the wall, with no room really to manipulate it at all. In the second pic is my new sewing table. I found the vanity that forms the base of it on Craigslist for $35, then put a 4' X 4' piece of melamine board on top to form the table. Once I get my shelves put up on the wall, the "magazine racks" at the back of the table will go on those and I'll have even more room at the back of the table. But look at the difference! This is the same quilt on the same machine, all spread out on the table instead of being crammed against the wall!! I'll have more pics to show off when I get it finished. Thanks for looking!

Isn't a lot of work to get a sewing room organized and arranged so it is more usable. Good job so far.

Keep us posted in your sweet little studio.

Have a good time with your sister.
peace

Very very nice. My sewing room is 8 x 8 so I know the challenges of a small room. I have a big closet tho with just shelves and it holds all my fabric.

Small room, but lots of love! I had a sewing arrangement like your first one for a long time and you don't realize how cramped you are until you add that extra space behind the machine! Everything got so much easier. Enjoy your new setup! (I'm sure you are!)

I like your nicknacks too!
