Default What size is your cutting table?

I currently am using an IKEA tabletop that is 72" x 24". I had originally planned to use one end (24 x 36) for cutting mat and the other end for pressing (felt pad). However I picked up a Rowenta ironing board brand new but cover damaged off Kijiji for $25 and have been using that - planning to make a "Big" board for it. With both the large table and the ironing board I'm getting a bit cramped.
What size cutting table would you recommend? Or do I rethink my ironing surface? I'd keep my ironing board for regular sewing any way and put more thought into how I'd store it.
I also have twelve totes under the table that are storing sewing patterns, Christmas fabrics and planned projects... they have to be accommodated as well. My room is 9' x 11'.

My 24x36” cutting mat sits on a Husky work table approximately 24x60 that I purchased from Home Depot. I like having the extra room on the table when I am cutting projects.

My cutting table is roughly 48" wide and 7' long. It's a 2 piece counter top that goes over 6 of the pattern cabinets, all full of fabric.

Mine is 4ft wide and 6ft long. I want a lot of room when I cut. My ironing table is 2ft x 4t.

My cutting table is 50x75 and is covered by 4- 24x36 cutting mats held down with double sided tape. For me this is perfect as it allows me to trim quilts with ease once they are off the longarm. I have a big board that covers my ironing board, this is a must for me since I starch and press all fabric before cutting and it makes pressing yardage and a completed top a breeze.
It took me a while and much rearranging to find a set up that worked best for me. I keep irons away from my cutting table because cutting mats are way too expensive and we all know what happens when heat gets on a cutting mat.

My cutting table is 36 x 72". I make a lot of large quilts and I also use it for sandwiching my quilts. I have an ironing pad on top of some old kitchen cabinets that is 20 x 60". I am fortunate to have a sewing room that is roughly 20 x 20 ft. with one area for laundry which is handy for pre-washing my fabric. I have also worked on a card table so I don't know what the adequate size would be.

Mine is 4' x 8' using 2 bottom section bookcases with doors to hold my patterns and books. I added a piece of plywood the same size x 5/8 thick. Attached it with "L" brackets so it wouldn't move around then added another shelf halfway down for more storage where I keep my scrap bins, pre-cuts and jelly rolls on one side and my stabilizers on the other size. I added hooks at the ends to hold my longer rulers. My bolt of batting is hanging just above it so I can pull however much I need and cut it. I was able to find a cutting mat the same size...green on one side and black on the other, both sizes have markings on them.

My sewing room is 10x12 feet so similar in size. I have re-arranged the layout and functions many times. I have 3 tables in a U shape plus the ironing table which is a 24x 48 work bench. I cut plywood to size and covered with the silver cloth. I want extra room for the iron and starch. Easy to put a cutting mat over it if needed. Normally, the cutting mat is on the 30x60 table.

Good luck with the decisions!

My table is on risers so it is about 37 inches tall, 60 long and 30 deep (I think). My martelli mat fits well with room for things on edge near window. I keep my long ruler next to the mat with some things I"m working on next to that. and things along the window edge of the table in containers. Works well. it's an office table.

My cutting board is 7' long and as wide and a kitchen counter. My cutting mat fits fine on the cutting table "when" I have not over loaded it. Right now I am working on blocks for a swap and so there is fabric everywhere! Of course my Ironing pad is at one end too so that leaves me even less space. It is on my to do list to clear it all off and make more space.
