13th Biennial Quilt Show - "Quilts In Bloom"

The String-A-Long Quilt Guild of Valparaiso, IN, will present their 13th biennial quilt show, "Quilts in Bloom," on Saturday, March 27 (9am-5pm) and Sunday, March 28 (10am-4pm) at The Porter County Expo Center, 215 E. Division Rd., Valparaiso, IN, one mile south of Route 30 on Route 49. There will be over 250 new and antique quilts on display including a special exhibit of quilts and coverlets from the Porter County Museum. Proceeds from a silent auction will benefit the museum. The show will offer a merchant's mall, boutique, quilters flea market, and quilt appraisals. Food will also be available. Admission is $5, children under 12 years of age are admitted free. An applique quilt made by guild members will be raffled. Valparaiso resident and String-A-Long guild member Pat Atwell will feature a display of her traditional scrappy quilts. "25 Years In Stitches," the biennial quilt show of the Old Tippecanoe Quilt Guild will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Christ United Methodist Church, located at 3610 S. 18th Street, Lafayette, IN. The theme is 25 Years in Stitches and the featured quilter is past president, Roseanna Halsema, who passed away in October 2009. The show will include a Merchant Mall with vendors from near and far, a Trading Post where you can buy gently used quilting items, a 25 Year Challenge and several other Special Exhibits, along with a Raffle Quilt.

The Retired Senior Volunteer Program of northeast Indiana will
be hosting the 29th Annual Quilt Show October 8-9, 2010. It will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 1203 East 7th St., Auburn, IN 46706. Admission is $5.00. The 2010 Hoffman Challenge will be featured at this year's show. A Wearable Art Fashion Show will take place at 11:45 each day. Classes will be offered each morning and afternoon. Vendors will be on site. There will be Silent Bid Baskets available. Raffle tickets are available on our Sampler Quilt which is made from our Quilt Block Contest the previous year. This year's theme will be "Autumn Colors" and you can make a 12 1/2 x 12 1/2"
