Default 2021 KC Regional Quilt FEst

Just to let you know--planning for the 17 guild sponsored KC Regional Quilt Fest is underway and we are still planning on holding this big show in mid June 2021! Things may change due to pandemic--but for now we are a go! Quilt categories and entry form should be on the kcrqf.com website in the next couple of weeks--modern quilts is a new category--so check it out! KC is a friendly place and we are assuming a vaccine before May!

An Update: the Kansas City Regional Quilt Fest is still planned as an in-person show in mid-June 2021 at the Overland Park Convention Center. while the hope is that there will be a Covid vaccine that is viable and available before then, plans are in place to have a safe show as long as the rate of infection is controlled by then (it's not great right now in the Midwest) Aisles will be wider and one-way, number of persons allowed to enter at a time will be controlled to space out entries, all attendees will be given plastic gloves(which allows them to white glove too) and masks will be required. We are moving forward with fewer guilds, but this will still be a show as large at least as the 2015 KCRQF--so mark your calendars! I'll keep you updated as we move forward.

Would add there are categories & entry instructions already posted (along with prizes) on the kcrqf.com website--so check it out and pick which quilt you plan to enter!

yes indeed! We are so excited that it looks like Covid vaccines will be feasibly available by June and we planned for there being added safety precautions--wider aisles, bit smaller classes, asking for mask wearing and distancing, hand sanitizer, adjustment of food spaces, etc. Think this will work and hopefully there will be many in attendance. We are also asking for sitting area/eating area in the courtyard so people can get fresh air.

Update: for the judged portion start all larger vendor spaces full, but some smaller ones available. With the vaccine knews we've heard this past week, we are anticipating a great show. Several bus trips, including one from LA! Hope to see you there--and entries Jan. 1 online--so enter a quilt! And class sign ups will start Jan. 15--some great teachers, so check it out.

Latest update on KC Regional Quilt Fest! It's a GO! June 17-19 (although there are some classes on Wed the 16th afternoon). March 31 deadline for the judged quilt portion--last I heard hardly any youth quilts!
All vendor spaces (240+) are taken and sounds like a great variety
Sponsoring guilds will be displaying many, many quilts + special collections, too!
Demo's--find out the latest techniques, fabrics, notions!
Classes--are starting to fill up, but many spaces still available. Want to learn how to paint on fabric, dye fabrics, quilt on long arm or domestic, specialized techniques or projects? There is a class for it! Prices are very reasonable.
So join us--whether only 1 day or all 3! There will be quilters from KS, MO, IA, NE, LA, TX, IL, OK and more!

2 of the 4 hotels on the website www.kcrqf.com rooms are booked, but the two Marriotts still have spaces. Show at the Overland Park Convention Center & did you know that there are many quilt shops in the area and Mo. Star is just about 1hr north?? Angela Walters is on the way to Mo. Star, too!

Covid safety precautions: wider aisles, one-way aisles, distancing markings, sanitizer, masks required. And hopefully by mid-June many of us will have had 2 vaccines and feeling much safer! (ample parking too!)
