Default Bennington Quiltfest

While traveling this summer I saw a notice for the Bennington Quiltfest on Sept. 13 from 9-5 and Sunday Sept 14 from 9-4 at the Mount Anthony Union Middle School, 747 East Road, Bennington, VT. There will be new and old quilts, demonstrations, door prizes, quilt raffle, challenge quilts, special exhibit, vendors and food service. Admission is $7. For more info go to http://www.benningtonquiltfest.com

Bennington, Vermont is a beautiful place to visit any time of year. Add Autumn leaves and a quilt festival and Wow wee!

My husband will be away on a fishing trip. Its an 8 hour drive or so from our house, I love the area and was thinking of heading there for the weekend. Are there typically many vendors?

Oh and maybe the Dear Jane Quilt will be on display at that time too in the Bennington, Museum!! They display it every Fall for a few weeks. I've seen it in person there and it's much more beautiful in person. Check their website first to be sure.

Wish I were closer -- I love to visit quilt shows in different areas to see what is popular elsewhere! I bet the Dear Jane is an absolute treasure to see.

I go every year, it's a nice little show. There are vendors and a consignment area with fabric, patterns, books, what have you-as well as items to purchase. The lunch menu is FANTASTIC, so you can view quilts and have lunch and check out the cafeteria area with consignments, and then go back and check out the quilts again or visit vendors around the edge of the show. I was thinking about entering a quilt for display there--might still do it.
