and go through Florence, OR - there is a neat quilt shop there called 'The Joy of Quilting'. Clean, bright, engaging staff. Some of the quilts they had made up were really stunning and unique. Attached to the shop is a small quilt gallery and gift shop with some fabulous quilts.

It is in the east side of Hwy 101, cross St. is 30th

I give it:

My husband and I are full time RVers for 15 years. We summer in Florence. Great to discover gems of quilt shops. I taught this class last year and it was very popular at this shop. Life is an ongoing learning experience.

Thanks for sharing. We were at the beach this last weekend Siletz Bay. I was thinking I wish there was a quilt store around here. Florence is a little farther but maybe next time.

My favorite coast quilt shop was in Lincoln City, but is no longer in business. There is a nice one in Newport, though. Can't think of the name right now, but it is just before the Yaquina Bay Bridge, on the the west side of the road.

I too LOVED that quilt shop in Lincoln City! Everytime I was in there, it was always busy so not sure why it closed.

I know, I know why they closed. I was there one of the final days they were open and the owners told us they have grandbabies and kidlettes they never get to see so they were closing and moving closer to the kids. They tried selling the shop for over a year but the economy and such left them without a buyer. Too bad.
