Just dawned on me to ask ones that would know! We'll be going to this area next month to visit relatives. If I can steal away for a bit it would be fun to take in a nice quilt shop. Are there any must-sees?

You're too close to San Francisco to not check out some really psychadelic places there, get some groovy threads man!!! Then cut them up into squares and make a groovy quilt dude!

Seriously tho, I'm jealous and wish I could go there too! Enjoy your visit, and really take a trip to the city and see what you can turn up.

Unfortunately our time will not be ours out there. We recently found out that my mil has alzheimers so we're trying to get out there while she still knows us. Most of our time will be doing what needs to be done.... but I was just hoping if there were a neat shop close by I could ask if we could stop. My mil might even enjoy it too - she'd been in fiberarts for many many years.

Thanks for mentioning the Cotton Patch, Debra - that doesn't look too far away. I'll keep that in mind and see how things go!

I agree that the Cotton Patch is the place to go in the Walnut Creek area.
I hope you are able to visit the store since they have wonderful fabrics.
