TWO WEEKS from today I will be heading east up the mountain to the Sisters Quilt Show. Woooohooo!!

Now I know a few of you can't attend - 2 Doods, KarenBarnes, SewCornie are the ones I know for sure. Who else?

We need to plan a rendezvous spot, so why not everyone post a suggestion on this thread? I go early. How about meeting for lunch? Wine Woman & I talked about meeting in the park, and she was gonna bring the wine ;) I do know that the restaurants are PACKED.

Let's hear your ideas.....

Laurie

UglyCook 06-26-2010 07:26 AM

Hmmmm, at least an 8 hour drive, but very tempting.

lovequilts 06-26-2010 07:29 AM

I went a few years ago....One of those memories I will never forget. Wish I had a digital camera back then LOL Will get there again. Enjoy....

Charlee 06-26-2010 07:30 AM

I had figured on pinning a sign on my back with "Charlee, www.quiltingboard.com" on it...figured that would attract the attention of those that know about this board, and maybe encourage others to join us!! (probably won't do that...kinda tacky...but I DID entertain the thought for a short while!)

I like the idea of meeting at the park...potluck or individual lunches?

C'mon...you KNOW you want to!! ;)

Pam 06-26-2010 07:46 AM

Geez, a 3 day drive for me, too far. Darn.

quiltingnonie 06-26-2010 08:40 AM

Charlee: Now if you look exactly like your avatar, I'd probably recognize you :) Perhaps we could all pin a rose (or flower) on our shirt - might be less tacky than a sign on the back!

I'd say everyone bring their own lunch.

JudyG 06-26-2010 09:39 AM

I'll be there and will try to make it to the park for lunch, but can't promise as I'll be with my five friends that are also going and who know's where we'll end up at lunchtime.

Is anyone attending Alex's lecture in the park Friday night?

Fabric roses would be fun to make! I'll have to see what I can come up with when I get home tonite!
I don't know how much I look like my avatar! ~laffin~ That little gal that took the photo is good with a camera! (I can wear that same blouse tho!)

craftybear 06-26-2010 11:58 PM

I just found a cute fabric flower that you can make so others will know you are from the Quilting Board site

craftybear: LOVE the fabric flower tutorial! That would be perfect.

Kitsie 06-27-2010 07:44 AM

Have a wonderful time and take lots of pictures to share! Hope to see you all in Sept!

Wishing you could join us :!:

dunster 06-27-2010 08:32 AM

I will be there for sure. One of my guilds is hoping to bring our quilted van again this year, and if so I will be with that when I'm not out looking at quilts. Last year we parked it right in front of the quilt shop (with their permission), so you can't miss it. I don't know if I can meet in the park for lunch, but will try. Where is the park?

JudyG 06-27-2010 08:49 AM

Neat flower tutorial. Thanks Craftybear.

Village Green City Park is 2 blocks South from downtown, between Elm & Fir Streets. Hoping to see you there 8-)

texas granny 06-27-2010 01:31 PM

Better off packing a lunch and for getting the resturants

texas granny 06-27-2010 01:33 PM

You all could put a special word on a tee shirt so the ones your meeting will know its your group.

KarenBarnes 06-27-2010 02:03 PM

I'm really wishing I could go! I've had such a great time getting to know many of the NW quilters! Please take pics and share with us in September at Feathers!

Wish you could join us, too, Karen....but understand when it comes to family b-days!

KarenBarnes 06-27-2010 02:47 PM

Thanks Laurie! Have a great time!

Wine Woman 06-27-2010 08:55 PM

Well I'll be there-I don't know with flower on! I can't wait. I'm staying the weekend. I need to find out about Alex's event in the park. Oh yea where is the park? Does anyone know what street it's on. Driving into Sisters from Bend is it on the right or left of the town?

I can't wait. And I'll bring the wine however, does anyone want wine on a hot day?

The park is like two blocks behind main street on the LEFT between Elm & Fir St. Might want to check the Stitchin' Post's website to see a schedule of events.
Beer might be a better choice
Looking forward to seeing you.

I wish I could go, but maybe next year. I hope everyone posts some pictures and stories of their adventures.

Charlee 06-28-2010 08:47 AM

WOOHOO!! Just talked to the bossman...he's going to make sure I get the day off!! William sat and listened, and then informed me that "you can go as long as you leave your purse and everything in it at home!" Yeah...THAT's gonna happen!!

I've decided...I'm going to wear either black pants, or blue jeans with a BRIGHT red Hawaiian shirt layered over a white tank top..I figure with that red shirt no one will be able to miss me!!

Now that's an idea - we could all wear bright red
If you can't take your purse, just slip the debit/credit card in your jeans pocket

Trade your purse for a small backpack! You need to bring a lunch and a water bottle, don't you? :)

Charlee 06-28-2010 10:46 AM

~laffin~ I was thinking more of a suitcase with rollers...think he'd notice??

Getting home shouldn't be the problem! What's he going to do? Send you back to the store to return it? I think that would be like sending the kid back to the toy store don't ya think? :)

Nanjun 06-28-2010 01:21 PM

easy tutorial and nice looking flower

~laffin~ No...I'd just experience "the pout" and silent treatment for a few hours...I can deal with that! ;)

zz-pd 06-29-2010 02:57 AM

I don't know if I can go or not, I don't know what hubby got planed. but I do have a wheel chair so I can see everything with no pain from walking. God bless. Penny

scrappylouisa 06-29-2010 12:38 PM

Hope to meet some of you ladies that are going to be able to attend the Sister's quilt show. This will be my first time to visit.

Oh.....red is my favorite color. I'll be the lady with a red blouse, jeans and the fancy burgundy walker so I can sit if I get exhausted from my fibromyalgia.

quiltingnonie 06-29-2010 04:36 PM

We will look for you! Check out the park (2 blocks behind main St.) around lunchtime. I think I will try and wear red also

Charlee 06-29-2010 07:47 PM

Can anyone swing by Cornelius and pick up Penny? :)

Chasing Hawk 06-29-2010 07:48 PM

Count me in. I can't wait. My 1st quilt show.

Sparky 06-30-2010 06:26 AM

I will be there, I'm taking a class on Friday and staying overnight so should be there early. I don't have time to make a flower, but will wear a big hot pink straw hat with wide brim, should be easy to spot. I'll pick up something for lunch and try to meet up with you. If you see me wandering around, give me a holler!

Great! Am anxious to hear about your class - is that the one on dyeing fabric?
