If you visit one quilt shop ask for a list of others. I visited many shops in Myrtle Beach last winter. At each store I purchased a couple of fat quarters and am making what I call my traveling quilt. I will post a picture. It is a grandmother garden paper piecing by hand

There is one shop I really enjoyed. Accent Sewing in Murrells Inlet,SC. The store has doubled in size and so has the fabric.
Beautiful Sewing machine demo area.Seemed to keep up with the new more than the others

I actually talked to the gentleman who used to own that shop, while just on my trip to NC, with his wife and it closed due to family illness. They just do quilt shows now.
