Hi,
I'll be traveling to Charlotte NC and wondered if anyone could recommend a quilt shop anywhere on the path from Knoxville, TN to Charlotte, NC?

Looks like I'll be on I-75 then I-26.

I don't know of any off the top of my head but if you do a search for "fabric stores in Tenn" and one for fabric stores in NC you'll find a bunch.

Mary Jo's in Gastonia just west of Charlotte, look on their website for directions maryjos.com

yes there's mary jo's....it is worth going out of your way for! Then while you are there you can go to long creek mills for thread. I think its just around the corner. In Charlotte there is QBee Quilts. Its a small store but they are very nice. Its in the Ayrsley area. I don't venture into Charlotte city much (too much traffic) but I know there is one in Indian Trail that is supposed to be nice.

yes, Mary Jo's is a MUST. She has everything and a bit loweer in price. At one time there was a remnent ship in Monroe NC. Havn't been there in many years. If convenient is might be worth finding. It is just off the route from Charlotte south and about a block west.
But get to Mary Jo's.

Do you remember anything else about where it was? Everything has grown so much and so many new roads....

Here is a list of all the shops in the Charlotte area - unless I haven't found some. There are also several shops in Hendersonville and Asheville area off I-26. That's a whole day trip for me.

This is the only one that I've been to in Asheville and it's been a while, but I remember that they had a great selection and great prices. Foam and Fabrics Outlet, http://www.fabrics4you.com/home.html
