Five of us?? Hooray! I know of four of us: 2Doods Wine Woman KarenBarnes sew cornie Who am I missing . . . ? |
I just got back from there. Our group of 15 rents the same house over Columbus Day Weekend. Had sewing machines set up all over this 3 story house. It is down past the casino, down near the old Dory Cove Restaurant (which rebuilt on the south end of town) that burned down three years ago. This house will sleep about 21 people and has a spectacular view of the ocean. Wonderful waves this weekend. Have a great time!!! Jan

Oh wish I could go....We are going next week. I will try to leave some fabric at the Quilters Cove in New Port!
|
What a great idea- I grew up in McMinnville and have so many fond memories of beach days! Take a stitch in memory of the one who traveled coast to coast!
|
I'm planning to hit Robert's bookstore on the south end of town before I head to the house! He has an awesome selection of quilting books for 1/2 price or better! Not like I need another one but still fun to look! Are any of us carpooling? If not, I will look for a place for the extra cars!
|
Too bad I can't join you! It's my anniversary weekend! Maybe another time! I would love to meet you there! DH and I will most likely be at the coast also!
|
Well that can always be arranged! Will you be in Lincoln City? We will give DH wine or food while we all get together! PM one of us so we can connect and exchange information.

I will probably leave around noon. Spend an hour at the bookstore and then maybe some shopping(looking) before going to the house. Once I'm at the house, I don't want to do anything but sew, gab and eat! :)
I believe we can park at least 4 cars there but won't know for sure until we try it. I don't recall where the nearest spot to park extra cars is but we'll figure something out if we need to. We may need to have our day guests park somewhere else and shuttle them. Obviously it would be best to carpool if we can! I can take people over but since I'm coming back early, someone else will have to take home. Got your check today as well! |
I won't be able to head out until late afternoon or early evening. I've never been to Lincoln City so I'd kind of like to get there in the daylight. I'm happy to give anyone a ride and will have a better idea of departure time next week.
Karen, I'm going to stop by your house later this evening to drop off my check. If you're not home, I'll come by tomorrow. |
I'll be home all evening! There is no hurry though, if someone else decides to join us it could change the cost!
For those who are going and don't know it, I volunteered to make chicken fajitas for Saturday night! I bought an awesome seasoning/marinade mix in Chicago! |
Good evening all,
Just got done chatting with Karen and I am going to be there with you all on Friday. I will be coming back with Karen on Saturday night. I have never done this before so please excuse any questions I might have. I am very excited to see you all again. I am back to walking without the crutches so I hope to be out of "das BOOT" for the weekend. See you soon, Faith  :XD: |

Sounds like you are making good progress there. Good for you! Alice |
Yahoo! I'm much happier to have someone to talk to on a drive to the beach! I think we'll have a great time!
|
Have fun.
|
No worries, Faith. I think there's a bunch of us who haven't done this before. I'm so glad you get to come!
|
I've done this before!! Something that's fun - if the weather is nice- is sitting around a beach fire. Talking, laughing and hearing the ocean in the background. What do you think girls-is anyone up for a beach fire?
I'm so glad you can join us Faith. Just in case you should pack your bag for two nights! You just never know. . . :-D :-D |
I don't know about the beach fire but what I do know is that I can sew without having to stop and make sure everyone else is taken care of or clean a house or run an errand! I'm liking that!
|
Hi Everyone, I'm so looking forward to this trip and sewing, and all the wonderful quilters who will be there. I retired in the spring, so now I have time for get togethers like this. The beach fire sounds like fun. Will we need to bring our own firewood?
|
Yes, we would need to bring firewood! If it rains I will be thankful the house is only a block from the beach and there are lots of windows overlooking the ocean with very little in between!
I got your check Trish! Thanks! |
Is there a fireplace at the house? If so I can bring a couple of fire logs.
|
Sorry, no fireplace! At least not that I remember but then I was there in August!
|
I've done both on firewood. I've purchased a few bundles-but they really don't last long. They are good for starting it. I've gathered wood from the beach and that was fun until you get there and you find out that its far and few between! So after looking at the weather if it's going to behave for us that weekend and we are all in agreement to having a fire I don't mind throwing in the trunk some logs. That way I know we have some dry wood! We just need to bring chairs if you don't want to sit in the sand!
|
So I have been a little absent minded lately, what with sis going under the knife for eyes and looking for a new home and my leg issues. I seemed to have gotten my wires crossed.....
I called Karen this morning to ask her what time she was coming to pick me up for the trip to the coast so that I could be ready and waiting so she wouldn't have to wait for me.... Can you see where I am going with this yet? She replied that she wasn't coming today, it was next week.. Um, ok it seems I was so eager to get outta dodge that I got a little ahead of the game plan. LOLOL!!!!! I'm really not an airhead I swear! I had so much fun the last time I met with you all that I want it to happen NOW! LOL! So my bag is packed and I'm ready to go. TSA would have a field day with that suitcase though. What would they say about the rotory blades, iron etc. in it. LOLOL!! OK, so now I have given you a laugh for the weekend. See you all next weekend!!! Faith :D :XD: |
You did make me smile!
|
Faith, you make me laugh!  I'm glad it's not this weekend. The week has been so busy that I'd be sleeping the whole time instead of sewing.
