Went to the show today. It was good. Small though. If you have ever gone to the Riverhead show in June that one is bigger.

Now I have to say I was at the lancaster show 2 weeks ago. That was huge! 3 floors. I haven't gone to many but lancaster one was by far the largest. So for a local showing it was ok. And there were some beautiful quilts too.

And of course I came home with some goodies!

Will check out the Riverhead show. Is that the Peconic Bay one?

I was a little disappointed in the Smithtown show. There were some really lovely quilts, but for the most part, they just weren't what I'm accustomed to seeing at quilt shows.

Surprisingly I did not buy any fabric there at all. There wasn't a lot of it and what was there was toooo expensive. I did get a Batting Buddy and am already having fun with it, and templates for Dear Jane/Hannah. Also overpriced.

Yes, That is the peconic bay show.

This was the smallest that I've been to too but it was ok.Dissappointed in that I was done with in 2 hrs. Riverhead is larger. Alot of vendors. They are the first week in june every year.

Not alot of fabric. But a few pieces that I wanted. They were alot cheaper than Lancaster. I had purchased fat qtr for 1.50 or 10 fat qtr for 10.00. In lancaster 2.50 a fat qtr. I just depends on what you want.

After being there today, I enjoy the large shows. I like the choices you get from different vendors. But thats also with the showing of machines , batting, patterns, fabric, and supplies.

So I know if I'm going to another show it has to be a big one.

Agreed. I was very disappointed in the classes. I am by no means an advanced quilter, but the classes just weren't much of anything. As for the quilts on display, many were gorgeous and showed a great deal of skill, but there were some that were ... well, I don't want to express a lack of charity, so I'll leave it at that.
