    Hi Everyone,
I wanted to let my QB friends that live in the Central Va/NC area know that I will have a booth at Uncle Billy's Day this weekend. The vendor area is open from 3-9 Friday and from 10-9 on Saturday. Mention that you saw this post on the QB and I'll give you a 25% discount.

    see you there!

    Craftybear,

Thanks! This festival is PACKED every year and I hope to make some great sales and lots of good contacts. Altavista has some great quilters that don't necessarily belong to a guild, so I'm hoping to pass out some business cards to them and let them know that I custom cut fabric into kits. I'll also have lots of baby items to sell.
    gotta run!

Got off to a slow start on Friday. According to vendors who have been before, Friday is the "setup" day. Saturday I made over $200. Considering 99% of my stuff is under $20, that's quite a bit of "stuff" (my DH's term!).

I was disapointed that my yo yo animals did not sell--I have them priced at $30, which for the fabric and labor involved is a bargain. I know not to make anymore of those for craft booth. Guess I will stick to selling those on my website!

I think instead of craft shows I'm going to start selling more kits at quilt shows. That's the direction I think my business needs to go. People just don't want to pay for handcrafted items when they can get something for $1 at dollar general. LOL I do enjoy the people I meet at craft shows. I love to sit in my booth and people watch as well! Whew! it takes all kinds to make the world go round!
