I'm a software designer by day, I've been doing that for about 25 years now. I design software design for a major firm that does software for the banking industry. I do have an art background, I took lessons from several teachers in my twenties, and did paint (oils, watercolors) quite a bit. So the color thing comes easily to me, and mixing in the design aspect of my work helps as well. :)

A pantograph is a repeating pattern than comes on a long roll of paper. You lay the roll of paper on the frame table and use a laser light stylus attached to the quilting machine head to trace and follow that pattern so that the quilting is done in the same pattern.

Dandelion Girl is my most favourite fabric in the whole wide world - and so is this quilt!! Fabulous. I love the quilting design.
