Here is my photo of the actual floor. This was taken in April of this year before the crush of summertime crowds, so I snapped a pretty clear shot as a pedestrian was "invading" the frame. It was enough for me to work up a rough sketch for a makeshift pattern.

breath taking, you did a fantastic job.
I find my self drawing things I see, but have to wait tell next year, when I can play with all this wonderful patterns.
right now I have to make fast quilts for Christmas gifts. God bless.

Inspiring! My first quilting teacher did a similar quilt using the pattern of the marble floor in the Utah state capitol building rotunda. Tell me, when you're working with batiks in a design like this, do you fussy-cut, or just let the patterns and colors fall where they may? Absolutely beautiful!
