It depends what I'm working on. The One Block Wonder quilts I've done are all quilted from the back, usually just a meander, (except the borders which I like to quilt reflecting the theme of the fabric), with a very fine thread, so as not to detract from the effect of the hexagons.
On this quilt I worked each 16in block separately but without a break, but the borders are done in one round too. On traditionally pieced quilts I like to try and free motion to "suit" the fabric and pieced design.
