This is the first time I've shared any photos with you Dear Fellow Quilters. This quilt is a surprise birthday quilt for my sister. She lives in N.Y. and I live in WA, however, we both were born and raised in the Heartland..... Nebraska. Our mother (who now resides with the angels) grew blue morning glories at the base of her clothesline post & by the end of summer they would have climbed all the way to the top and each morning would bloom bright & cheery. Sunflowers grow abundantly in Nebraska - in many a roadside ditch, pasture, hillside & even an occasional farmer's field. When I saw the combination of both flowers in one fabric, I KNEW I had to make a Stack n' Whack quilt with it! It's my favorite pattern.

My hope is that when my sis looks at her quilt, it will bring back fond memories of her Nebraska childhood -- and our mom's love of flowers. By the way..... mom was a quilter ;)

    Thanks for looking,
I enjoy seeing all YOUR lovely photos!!

Ready for the Long Arm .......

Absolutely beautiful quilt! I love blue and yellow together anyway, but you certainly made the most of this pretty fabric. What a very special gift to your sister.

Thank you for posting your first picture for us! Let us know later what your sister's reaction is when she sees this.

how beautiful. My colours. The memories that this evoles must be almost overwhelming. Love the colours and the design. Your sister will be so happy to receive it. Don't forget to include a summary on the back with your details; the rational for its design; and washing instructions.

I love it. I would post some pictures, but can't seem to get them to post. Anyway, so sweet of you to give this to your sister.

Beautiful!!! Now I know I want to try a stack'n whack. I have a book on it but haven't tried it yet. Another to add to the "To Do List".
