I finished up sewing the top of this quilt, which is destined for my Niece for her Christmas present this year (she will be nearly 2 years old by then). The pattern is just darling, it's called "Spice Cake" by Mary's Cottage Quilts.

I used a fabric line called "Flutter" to make it up.

This is a FAST top to sew. It came out sizeable (that's my queen sized bed it's on there, it's just barely over the edges on the sides) and I cut and sewed it in about 5 evenings (with my sewing time in the evenings being approx 2 hrs). It calls for yardage or FQs, but you could easily do it with a layer cake as the snowball blocks that make up the quilt are 10".

Thank you! My favourite part (aside from how fast it was to make) is the little confetti-ish tiny squares between the snowballs.

Very pretty. Like the sashing. Gives it a nice look.

just think how fast it would go if you did use a layer cake. Love the idea, and I love fast. Great job and I know lots of work

It's really nice. The cornerstones are just the right touch.
