Default $5.00 Singer Fashion Mate #237

I found this at a garage sale. When I started to take off the cover to look at the machine, the lady said, $5.00 and it is yours. Now I don't need another sewing machine but I didn't have one like this and it looked to be in near perfect condition so I thought for $5.00 what could I lose. When I got her home, I noticed upon further inspection, that it didn't have a spool rod or any of the accessories but I knew these were readily available from ebay or sew-classic. I oiled her really well and applied some grease to her gears and she runs so quiet and smooth. I makes #14 in my collection. I am running out of room, but when good deals come along they are so hard to pass up.

What a bargain. You have 14 sewing machines? Do you have a hand-crank?

You know, I do not have one of those yet. Actually, I guess I really have 15 sewing machines and I do have a hand crank if you count my child's #20 sewing machine from 1920-1926. I don't really know the year of its mfg. Maybe a good deal will come my way on a full size hand crank model one of these days and if it does you can bet I will find some place for it.

Brings back memories. That was the machine I bought right after I was married. Did a lot of sewing on that machine.

Well I couldn't pass it up either, you did good to get it! You never know when a friend might be in NEED of one! I am only up to 8 sewing machines and 2 sergers. I don't need anymore of either, but gee I just bid on one on ebay, maybe I won't get it

Shoot, the case itself costs upwards of $25 to replace. Good score.
