I vote for birth and quilt it. I also liked the suggestion someone made to double stitch the edges and snip them like making a rag quilt. But definitely no ties in a baby quilt.

It's a really pretty quilt. Since I've used fleece in some of the baby quilts I've made, I would say birth it and SID or tie it. We haven't had a problem when we tied them. Sometimes the baby likes the different texture of the ties. (My DGD soothed herself touching the ties when she drank her bottle or as she was going to sleep.

I have stitched in the ditch on the fleece & removed it it detracted from the backin instead I tied mine with narrow satin ribbon. havent heard any complaints of bumps or lumps being laid on

It's flipping the quilt inside out, sometimes called enveloping or pillowcasing. I made a tut if you still don't understand. I know a few people were confused

That's how I made my quilts for years. Just never heard the name birthing applied to it before.
