Our schools have "technology" classes where a bit of this and a bit of that are taught---------so home ec is not out of vogue.

HOWEVER-------I can do about any handicraft around, and like Bubba Nelson, I've never had a class in my life. Not one minute. In my experience the girls (old ladies now) who took home ec while I was taking other classes retained very little.

Still, our technology classes give kids a taste of many crafts, including woodworking and rocket making.

In genius. Very good use of a dresser. I admire your granddaughter's spirit. Bravo for her. It is nice to such a young one take an interest in something and continue on until it is complete. She is lovely.
