What a great job she did -- and she learned that life will throw you curves (in this case a selvage!), which you have to be creative to overcome (applique). The applique adds a nice touch to her quilt -- so that was a blessing! She looks very proud, and I'm sure her friend was thrilled!

I am impressed! My 11 yo dd isn't too fond of hand sewing the binding either! I love her quilting and the applique just pops! I bet her friend will be so happy with it!
