Wow--thank you for all your kind words. :D :oops:

The pattern came from a magazine--forgot the title, but it focused on log cabins. It's old. If you're familiar with log cabins, all you need to know is to end with the lights and to cut the darks 1.5" and the lights 1". Most patterns have the darks finish the square.

The blocks are about 7.75". I don't know how big this quilt will be yet--but I want enough there to really see the design--whatever it is.

That is just gorgeous!! I have GOT to stop looking at the other quilts and blocks on this site. :shock: I have seen so many that I love, and then put on my list of quilts to make. This is on the top of the list!
