I did not use pattern. It's just 9 patch blocks that are cut down the middle both ways, rearranged, resewn back together. I figured out the sashing/cornerstones on my own. I used 2.5" strips for the sashing and 2.5" squares for the cornerstones. Here's a tutorial for the blocks.

No, I was too impatient and wanted to see how they came out as I did them. The only fabric that was the same throughout was the center square. On the B&W, I used the black/gray in the outer corners of the 9 patch, turquoise in the center and whites in the other 4 spots. I used a different fabric for each of the 9 patches, but the same turquoise in all.

In the other one, I used blues/greens for the outer corners, dark teal for the centers, yellows/creams for the rest. Also different print for each square. I like it, but it is busier than I wanted it to be. I think the marble border improved it a lot...it gave the eyes a place to rest.
