Great qiuilts. I would love to try one of these but wonder is my arthritic hands could handle it. I do hand embroidery so I guess there would not be much difference

No, there's really no such thing as reverse applique. Applique is applique! You turn it under and you sew it down. However some people do call it reverse applique when the primary pattern is being revealed by cutting away and tucking under the "background" part of the pattern. In this case, the primary pattern is what is being turned under and sewn down (it's on top) so it doesn't fit that definition.
