I like the Baptist fans pattern. Reminds me of a tractor going up and down the hills trying to plant the rows the same distance apart from the others.

I agree, it such a classic design - my grandmothers used that design in their handquilting for many years. I continue the tradition but I have a longarm...Beautiful quilt.

Customer just picked up the second quilt. She was so pleased with the design choice. Most times my customers say "just do whatever"! This quilt is going to her stepson, and she was so glad that I kept it "masculine".

My mom quilted a lot of her quilts like that, but she called it the shell. She would mark it with a string and a piece of chalk, each row, shorten the string...Watched her do it so many times growing up...
