No, I hadn't seen that tutorial, but it's a good one! That's a different method than what I used, but I'm going to try it on attempt #3. I think the points may come out neater.

Love the fact of using halloween fabrics. At least you keep trying. I'm a bit chicken in trying this pattern. Great job

:) :) you did a GREAT job "winging" it. I went out and searched...finally figured out (DUUUUH) that ALL of the patterns can have 3 colors -- just everyone always used 2 before!!! you've started a new trend!!!!
