Great job! I am working on a french braid quilt now. I have 5 rows done in batiks, with cream triangles and I am going to put black saching in between.

I love this. Your colors are wonderful.
What is the cut size of the square in the middle and what dimensions are each braid.
I have some fabric picked out for one of these quilts, so I'm trying to figure out how much fabric I need. My book hasn't arrived yet and I want to get the batiks while they are on sale.

Hi Barb - the French Braid book requests 12 different fabrics - 1/2 yard each for the braids. It says to cut each into 2 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch rectangles. But, that is only for the one I made, there are 14 different patterns in the book. The center square is an off size - 8 3/8 x 8 3/8 inches. Have fun with your book when it arrives trying to decide which one to make. I would love to make a couple more.

Thank you Overlander. I will do the math and get the fabrics order and see if I can do this without it getting wonky. Maybe by the time I get the math done, my book will be here.
