    Default 3 Sunbonnet Sue quilts

My SIL's good friend had 30 Sunbonnet Sue blocks that her mother had appliqued. She's been carrying them around for years and finally decided to do something with them. She wanted 3 quilts for great-granddaughters of the maker. So I agreed to come up with something for her. I did the same layout for each, but with different fabric for the borders and sashing. Kind of outside my wheelhouse, as I prefer more modern things, but it's been fun to challenge myself to go a little bit "retro". I just finished quilting the 3rd one (it's not bound yet), and I'm very glad to be done with all these little ladies! It was fun, but it's time to move on!

Each Sue has something different in her dress and hat. Here's one closeup:

What a beautiful job you did in putting those together and quilting them! You've really made a treasure for each of the grandchildren!

They all turned out so pretty!

It always amazes me how changing colors and quilting of "the same" pattern makes the finished quilts look so different.

Even though I'm not a 'Sue' fan, I think these are adorable! Good job!
