We finally finished Dotty's quilts...Thank you for being so patient with us Dotty!
Sally quilted MOlly's trees. I think this was a block swap that Dotty was involved in..Dotty requested very simple quilting...she wanted the blocks to speak for themselves..I think we accomplished that. :thumbup:
I quilted the other three.....
The purple flower quilt...which is so pretty! This is Dotty's daughter's first quilt...and I got to quilt it...I love being included in such a special occasion! She requested gold metallic thread...she also has 3-d flowers. She pinned them to the top of the quilt where she wanted them..so I just went through and attached them while I was quilting ...fun! I do that all the time.
The pin wheels ..I stippled the border...D likes simple borders and simple quilting..so I just followed the lines of the HST's to make the center flowers.... it creates dimension but doesn't take away from her pinwheels.
The 4 patch posey .....I went in the center with an all over type of design with feathers, loops and swirls. ...in the border I just added a half feather....gives it some details but again..simplicity.
I /we quilt everything freehand....no pantograph or computer quilting.....we used hobbs polydown batting for all of these..Thanks for looking.
