Default 4 years since I've finished a quilt - zig zag rail fence and Autumn star

With the loneliness of Covid I've been feeling a bit down lately and a friend suggested I pull out the sewing machine to see if it helps. I took her advice and so happy that I did! I have been very motivated to quilt and finished not one, but two quilts last night. I looked through my quilts and realized it has been 4 years since I have made a quilt. I have been working on one off and on for years but that's it. The localfabric stores have been out of black fabric every time i go so it may take awhile yet to finish. Oh well.

The first one is a zig zag rail fence. I can't see the zig zag much and I think it's because the white is a bit busy. if I had used a solid it would show more, lesson learned. i still love it of course

The second one is by Jenny Doan and the block is called Autumn Star. It's made with 2.5" strips which is always a favourite way to quilt for me. I am saving them for Christmas for 2 people I support. I support 3 women so i'll have to get on the next one ASAP.

Congratulations on finishing two quilts after so long! This is such a joyous hobby. I am not sure what is going on but I do not see the pictures. As I’m viewing the site on my phone, I’m not sure if it is my browser or the board. Hopefully someone will come along and clarify.

I'm not seeing any pictures, either. I checked her profile and not seeing any new pictures in the album.

In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.

I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Some additional info regarding reducing iimages at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of quilt block ID?

I don't see any pictures either but no matter it is good to hear of your progress and desire to get back to some quilting. This has been a perfect time to be quilting. Glad you pulled out your sewing machine.

I am happy for you that you have been able to get so much accomplished! I also restarted quilting with Covid. I had great plans for Covid, but reality has been a bit different than I expected. I have been able to get back into it, some, though.
However, it is wonderful that you have been able to complete two projects! It is even more wonderful that you are enjoying the process. What a happy time, being able to look forward to Christmas. I am going to go look up the Autumn Star pattern, now! Thanks for inspiring me!

I spent 30 minutes trying to figure it out this morning and it showed on my screen in the preview but i never checked if it worked. Let's see if this one works!

Your quilts are lovely! I don’t see the “zig zag” of the rail fence so much as a woven look. Regardless, it’s a wonderful finish!

Glad you got your sew-jo back. Mine has been waxing and waning during this pandemic, but I know that's a temporary situation. Do you have plans for more?
