This quilt caught my eye and captured my heart from a book I've had for awhile. I finally got around to doing it. This is the first quilt I've done with a lot of applique, and I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. I just did straight-line quilting on my home machine. This is another scrap-buster--you'd think I'd be using these scraps up, but there doesn't seem to be any end to them!

Amazing! The applique really adds a lot to a simple nine patch quilt.

I am working on that same quilt! It is on the back of a book I got at the used book store for $3.00! I only have 13 of the 9 patches done and I am using squares instead of hourglasses. I hope my turns out as nice as yours!!

I love the used book store!

It's from Quick and Easy Scrap Quilts from Leisure Arts. It was pretty easy, but I wouldn't call it quick! It's the same book that CMinor showed a picture of on page 1.

You just can't get any prettier than a 9-patch. You can do so much with that little patch. Goodvjob, its lovely.

I'm making the same quilt! I have made several from that book. I skipped the applique since I've not done it before and plan to use a border instead. I thought it would use up my scraps but I've still got plenty left.
