It's great that they were given to a quilter. my husband brought me a quilt home, just the top that a man sold in a garage sell for $1. It is a thousand tiny triangles. There were some wore spots but I couldn't believe it! Completely hand sewn. I told my husband to take it back the man didn't know what went into his mom's quilt. He said no the man was going to throw it out but my husband came along. This quilt is now on my bed. I hand quilted the whole thing and spent the time wondering what she was thinking as she quilted, all types of material in it. I love it!

How lucky are you. It's part of history. Be sure to try and get some sort of dates. I agree with you the 70's sounds right for the material you mentioned...

I love the quilts made from simple, uncomplicated squares. Makes me miss my grandma. I still have quilts she made me over 30 years ago that are like those. She always used a blanket for batting, squares cut from old clothing, and tied them. She let me help her when I was small and I think of her often while I make my quilts.

Most of these you can do an edge to edge pantograph pattern or free motion quilting edge to edge. The diamond quilts could be custom quilted, depending on your skill level or if you want to have someone else quilt them for you.
