Default Abandoned string blocks

I went in my sewing closet to find a specific fabric and found these long abandoned string blocks. They were squared off, pressed and on a hanger, forgotten. I was 8 blocks short of a square, so I made 8 of them this afternoon and pieced everything into one block. Since it has been over 10 years that they have been in the closet, I find that the quality of my workmanship has definitely improved in that time. It was nice to see some of the fabrics of my long ago projects. I also find my taste in fabric has evolved. It is 63 inches square, more or less. I have this on my design wall as I decide what step to take next.

what a fun find! I like to make string blocks--kind of a 'no brainer" and love how they look.

Wow! I like it!

I just finished a quilt that I started about 10 years ago. Let's just say that I've improved a bit and it's a good thing

Nice that you can use them, but even nicer that you learned something good about your skill improvement and change in fabric style.

As I look at your quilt, I see spools in some of the blocks. Very pretty quilt.
