I'd be wrapped in it to be buried. That one is a keeper!

I have a question re quilting this quilt...I have finished the top, and am basting it this week. The book says an option to quilt is to outline quilt around the applique designs in the blocks, and echo quilt around the scrolls in the borders. Now, for those of you who have completed this quilt, how did you do it...like the suggestion of the author? Or did you quilt diagonal lines throughout? I'm kinda at a crossroads.
