I should have continued to say that my Mother had started the lone star before she passed away two years ago and I brought it home to finish but haven't done it yet. Your design gives me a good idea how to finish it and set some blocks around it. Thanks for posting it.

What a beauty! I adore S&W stars. They are always so intricate and complex looking. It never ceases to amaze me how the focus fabric can make so many dynamic and interesting designs in the same block. The initial fabric selection is key and while I wouldn't look twice at that fabric in the store, your vision for it in a S&W paid off big time. The chevron border surrounding the center star makes a real impact done in black and pink. And I love your sashing treatment. The solid black and white will make a great canvas for some pretty quilting. congrats on finally getting that UFO top done. Now don't wait another 15 years to quilt it. You need to be enjoying that quilt sooner than that.
Oops, just went back and read that you did finish quilting it. Make sure you post a pic of it all quilted and bound. Can't wait to see what you did with the quilting.
