    Wow - thanks for the comments.
    the original pattern was in an Aussie magazine : Handmade - Nov 2009 - Special country Christmas edition.
    I've written up the instructions, but don't have pictures to go with it (neither did the magazine)
    I've posted a tutorial on the Tutorial forum.
