Default All Aboard! If you love trains you will love this Quilt!

I just love trains and fell in love with fabric panel from Elizabeth Studios. I framed it with small railroad themed squares that I cut from a Quilting Treasures panel. I ended up having to sash the border RR squares but I wanted it to match the center panel.

I make so many children's and feminine quilts I decided I had to break down and do something more maculine. It was a lot of fun! I do have a Jeep quilt planned but waiting for the fabric to arrive.

The quilting pattern is of old steam locomotives and is from Anne Bright. The back is Midnight Blue Shannon Minky. It is very soft and whoever gets this quilt will love it!

What a good use of panel and border fabric! And that you found a train quilting design is just perfect.

You said "whoever gets this quilt". Where is it going?
They're always looking for "boy" quilts at Project Linus -- so many fabrics are floral!

I have seen the train material and wanted to get it but I couldn't think how I would make it into a quilt. Good Job.

Great quilt! I always try to do a few masculine lap quilts when I do charity quilts for the nursing homes. The pretty feminine ones are my favourite to work on but no guy wants one of those on his knees in the wheel chair.
