Yes, the mess is worth it because the block is great. Sometimes you make a mess before good things get done :o)

It IS lovely!! But I agree, paper piecing is hard when you first start out. I have done very little, but I'm sure experience is a good teacher!

It is a beautiful block and by the time you get it squared up it will be great. Paper piecing is like anything else the more you practice the better you get. I am doing a quilt with lots of curves in it for the first time and it is taking me a long time but I'm learning and it will be worth it. Keep going.
