When I grow up, I want to be able to piece and applique as well as you do. I see nothing wrong in having a long armer do the quilting since I personally do not have the vision or talent to do it.

I love poppies and have a large stash of the poppy border fabric that you used. Someday I'll get something made with it and the coordinating fabric I have and just hope that it will be half as nice as yours.

By the way, Sue's quilting is also gorgeous and compliments the work you put into the top. Good job all the way around.

That quilting is pure art! Of course, such a beautiful quilt top was the perfect canvas.

So sorry for not replying before this - I was finally bored and decided to look at my old topics....lol.

Yes, the center was pieced - via hot ribbon applique method. The pattern is called "Lettie's Journey". If interested you can get the book at "dutchquilter.com". The quilt tell the journey of a pioneer family from Holland on their way to America and settling in CA. Thus the ocean waves, bear paw, etc. But since I am no longer a CA resident, I am doing another with a different center panel for the state flower of MN (pink ladyslipper). It wouldn't be that hard to change the center panel to reflect where anyone lived.

    Thanx -

    Yvonne
