    Hello everyone,

So after being bogged down with work I got to take a break and go on my very first quilt retreat in Lexington Kentucky. My friend Joann and I went to Kaye England's Quilting College 2011 and the quilt below is what I worked on while I was there.

I know this might sound silly, but I'm really proud of this quilt. It's the first quilt I've made that wasn't a basic square or half square block. It actually went together really well. And after a year of quilting it was time for me to challenge myself with a more difficult quilt.

Now I'm planning to send this to Charisma to have it quilted. I've seen all of her photos on the board and they are GORGEOUS! So I'll post another pic in a few months when I get it back. :)

You have good reason to be proud. I love your quilt. Can't wait to see it quilted, but Charisma might just beat you to it and post it herself.

I agree! That type of star is not as easy to piece as say a simple sawtooth star! Ya done good

I too am eager to see Charismah work her magic on this lovely quilt.

Nothing silly about being proud of doing a great job. Really well thought out and good color choices.

    You SHOULD be PROUD!!!
That is a very nice quilt and you did a great job on it! It just might have given me the inspiration to try that star myself since I have been procrastinating.
    I love it!

Wow!!! Love it, and really love it!
Yes, please post after you get it back from charisma.
I've never been to Iowa before but may go to Council Bluffs in May for a wedding. I shall visit your great state and hope to see some quilt shops as well.

    This is a beautiful quilt!

I think you did a wonderful job on this....you should feel very PROUD!

Funny thing is that the first big quilt I made and long armed myself was a pattern very similiar to this...Eleanor burns "Road to Stardom"...

I hope I live up to the expectations..LOL. Can't wait to get it!

SHOOT! It was hosted by the Sterling Thimble Quilt Shop in Mt Sterling, but was held at the Clarion in Lexington. Becky is the owner there. I'm a big Kaye England fan, so I found it on her website.
