Another Crayon Quilt
#1

Tartan posted a crayon quilt back in 2015, her pattern was called Color Me by Emily Herrick. I did a similar one and it was gifted to one of DD's friends. I made another version with a black background in October of 2016 and put it in my "to be gifted" pile. Another of DD's friends will be a new grandma to identical boy twins this October, so I am making a "similar" crayon quilt so they will "match" (as much as you can when using scraps) and just finished the border today. (thankfully the LQS still had the same one in stock) I need to go shopping for a backing, maybe tomorrow. I took a picture of the two laying together, the fabrics were all prewashed, but not the warm and natural batting on the completed one. This really shows how much the quilting and batting shrinking does bring in the size some.

I love that they are nearly identical. So much fun to try to spot the differences, just like when you look at identical twins. Yes, the border is perfect for the quilt--and the black background is great for showing off those bold colors.
